The Asus Transformer is also available in three variants based on storage capacity i.e. GB, 16 GB and 32 GB which may seem less but it also comes along with a micro SD card slot that enables you to extend the storage capacity.

Battery Life :

The iPad 2 claims to have a battery life of 10 hours. The Asus Transformer is also expected to have the same battery life, but one can easily use it for 16 hours with the help of a keyboard dock.

Camera :

The iPad 2 is integrated with two cameras, a front camera of 0.3 megapixels and a 720 pixel rear camera that also enables you to shoot in HD. The Asus transformer beats the iPad in this category also with a 1.2-megapixel camera in the front, and a 5-megapixel camera in the rear.

Software :

The iPad 2 is based on apple’s own operating system the iOS. The device is based on the 4.3 version of the iOS that functions exceptionally smooth and fast. One can experience some of the features and applications. It also allows you to stream and transfer videos, music and movies to five devices on the Apple network. The Asus Eee Transformer pad is based the Android 3.0 honeycomb platform, designed especially for tablet devices. The Android platform includes a customizable home screen, useful notification system, attractive widgets and great multitasking functions that make it quite alluring.

Applications :

There are more than 3,00,000 applications in the Apple store that one can download for iPad 2. The Asus Transformer may have only 2,00,000 application only available in the Android market but then developers are working on the applications and each day  a number of new applications are added to it.

Pricing :

The iPad 2 is available at a heavy price of $499 on the other hand the Asus Transformer costs $399 along with the keyboard dock that makes it far cheaper.

Both the tablets have their own distinctive features, but looking at it from an overall perspective the Asus Eee Transformer pad seems to be taking the edge over other.
